Having a problem getting Firefox to open. When you try to click on it it looks like it wants to open, but the homepage is blank. When I try to log in the page stays blank. I can see the menu bar but none of the choices will open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, each time removing any and all Firefox folders. Still will not open. Followed the steps for a clean install, no change. The last time I was downloading Firefox I received my first error message: c:\windows\system32\msvcp140.dll error message I get no other error messages, the home page stays blank. Any suggestions on what to try?

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately none of the above steps made a difference. Chrome opens and operates correctly. Also Edge. Firefox remains a literal blank page, nothing will open.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

You may have to reinstall some Visual C components.

Started Firefox in safe mode. That did not help. Firefox is still blank. Menu tools cannot be used. Started Windows 10 in safe mode with networking. Firefox is still a blank page. Other browsers open correctly.
