Sirs...I have a problem in that I've been using MozBackup for securing my emails and addresses. It has proved to be very effective and invaluable on more than one occasion. However. it seems that my old version of MozBackup isn't compatible with the new version of Thunderbird. I only discovered this recently when my system crashed and I had to download Thunderbird and start from scratch. My backup files cannot be read. My solution was to revert to an older version of Thunderbird that is compatible with MozBackup. My problem now is that the latest version of Thunderbird is being automatically downloaded onto my computer which means after each power off, I seem to be forced into reloading my entire profile and losing my emails and addresses. So question one, please is there a current version of MozBackup I can use? If there is I can't find it. Question two is how do I stop the automatic download of the latest Thunderbird until I can find a new platform with backup that I can switch my mail to? I don't want to swap from Thunderbird as it's served me will ever since Microsoft fiddled around with Outlook and took away most of what Thunderbird was already offering at the time. However, I need my emails to be backed up and fully reciverable. Best regards, and thanks for the excellent service I've enjoyed for many years! Don Knibbs

There isn't. MozBackup has been abandoned long time ago.

Not sure what you're trying to achieve here. In any case, disabling automatic updates isn't a solution (if this is what you wanted to do). Thunderbird 78 is updated on a regular basis, including security fixes.

In order to backup the Thunderbird profile you can follow these instructions. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data#w_backing-up-a-profile
