Whenever I click on the box: "remember logins for sites" my selection is not saved- or it only works for that particular session. Once I close Firefox and then reopen it, my logins are no longer saved, and there's no popup box asking if I want to save new logins & passwords. What's goin on?

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
