I open my email in the morning and there are hundreds od undelivered emails sent from my email address all over the world. I added a master password and that did nothing. How do I make my account safe from this intrusion? Why would someone continue to send emails that don't get delivered? HELP!!

This might not be Thunderbird related.

Either someone has accesed your account from the e-mail server (like entered to your Hotmail account)

Or you have a Virus in your computer that created all those messages to be sent by Thunderbird.

Check your webmail first and change your password (webmail password not the Master Password) which is silly.

My best guess is this is what you're seeing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backscatter_(email)

You can filter those messages until they stop. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/organize-your-messages-using-filters
