The 'Searching…' note in the status bar remains long after Thunderbird has opened.

I have been having other issues related to sending email also. It takes a very long time to send via smtp.comcast.net. Not sure if the issues are related but I don't have the sending problem if I use Apple Mail.

Thanks for any suggestions. Ron

I am not sure what the searching means, but I do know I see it when Thunderbird is making DNS queries. to get the IP address of server names etc.
