how do i move folders and messages from outlook.com

I'm trying to migrate to Thunderbird from outlook.com. How can I move folders/messages to Thunderbird? When I try to use "import" nothing shows up to select.

Chosen solution

Outlook.com is a mail service, as is gmail and yahoo. Not a mail client as Thunderbird is, or windows live mail or outlook the program. So you add the account as IMAP. There is no import.

File (alt+F) > new > existing mail account
