My application, PrettyRun (http://delphistep.cis.si) can also search through Firefox bookmarks. In Firefox version 3 I copied places.sqlite to another location and I did my searches there. Recently I upgraded to Firefox 4. Places.sqlite seams to be encrypted. Is that true? Is there any option how to read it or Mozzila is preventing access? If so, I think this is not a good idea. PrettyRun for example is able to search trough IE favorites and Chrome bookmarks so being unable to search trough Firefox bookmarks only disables our favorite browser.

Perhaps the problem is when I copy places to the new location when places is already in use by FF. I'll investigate and report.

Ok, problem solved. I was not using the last sqlite3.dll. When I downloaded this one I'm able to read places.sqlite if I copy them to another location.
