This issue is with Thunderbird on MacOSX. It started several months ago. If there is an email from chew.com in my inbox on the imap server, I won't get any updates to the emails in my local inbox (including the new email from chew.com). No new emails will appear, and emails I have deleted (using my iphone) will continue to appear in my inbox. Once I delete the chew.com email (using my iphone), then everything updates. The email account is an me.com account (Apple iCloud). I've been using it with Thunderbird on MacOSX for longer than I can remember (20 years?). It had been working with chewy.com emails since I started using Chewy in 2018 until this problem started earlier this year.

I can't say why the Chewy messages cause this, but in the meantime I would try creating a filter through webmail that moves Chewy messages to a separate folder, and see if that helps. The folder with Chewy messages could be subscribed in TB, and maybe that would keep them from blocking other mail.

Ok, I've set that up. Will see what happens with the next Chewy email.

BTW, I just did an experiment where I moved a Chewy email from the trash to the Chewy folder, and I can't see the email from Thunderbird. So while using this filter/rule will solve the issue my Inbox getting blocked by Chewy emails, it will not allow me to read them with Thunderbird.
