AT&T had to come and install a new modem and now I must reset a password that I have no clue what was or how to put a new one in.

I tried to follow the instructions on setting a new password, but I have the latest version of Thunderbird and the options are not the same as those listed in the support help article. A message comes up about the password not accepted so how do I reset the password?

Your password is administered with your email provider. Thunderbird has nothing to do with that. You can see the email password you told Thunderbird to remember by going to Options-Security-Passwords-Saved Passwords Click show passwords. Right click the password and select Edit to change.

All that being said, getting your cable modem replaced should not require an email password change.
