This happened yesterday as well. Thunderbird stopped sending and receiving emails for about 2-3 hours and corrected on it's own. We are having no other problems with any other servers or emails.

Thunderbird stopped sending and receiving emails for about 2-3 hours and corrected on it's own. We are having no other problems with any other servers or emails.

It sounds like connection to server was not working possibly due to server being temporarilly down.

Possibly Thunderbird was set to offline or went into offline mode due to an internet connectivity issue.

Firewall can also block Thunderbird, so not sure whether something was updated and the Firewall did not recognise it.

Not sure what you mean by 'any other servers' as Thunderbird is not a server and you have not actually mentioned what server (s) you were trying to connect with or whether this is pop or imap mail accounts.
