How to sync contacts
Greetings! I have been using Thunderbird for many years. When I switched from Microsoft Outlook 7+ years ago I was so happy and found it to be a fantastic, robust, and stable email client.
However, in today's world of multiple devices, I am becoming increasingly frustrated by the fact that each instance of Thunderbird I have installed has a unique address book.
I am becoming so frustrated by this that I am actually considering trying out Windows 10 Mail. I have about half a dozen email addresses, including school (via gmail), personal gmail, 2 work emails, and multiple private domain emails. I would like all of these contacts to be synced in one place... preferably google, but I am open to using Windows contacts as well. I just want to know that the email address I am using is accurate, no matter which device I am using.
I can't seem to find any appropriate sync add-ons that are still supported. Any suggestions? Has anyone heard if Mozilla has any plans to address this issue?
Thanks, Jim

I use Google Contacts, which naturally enough syncs effortlessly between my Android devices.
In Thunderbird, the gContactSync add-on lets you add an address book that syncs to your Google Contacts.

Hi Zenos, I saw that add-on, but I didn't think it was compatible with my current version of Thunderbird (45.1.1) based upon the attached screenshot.
I will give it a try. Thanks for the recommendation.

It's says it's compatible with Thunderbird versions from 17. 0 to ("thru") 49.0. How could that not include 45?
The red circle with the line through gave me the impression that it did not support those versions. I would have expected a green check mark or something.
Umm, yes, that is a strange convention. I'd forgotten about it since I learned to ignore its misleading connotation.

Good to know I wasn't totally off my rocker getting confused by that! :)
