When I go into history from the pull-down menu, I am able to view using a variety of options (names, tags, visit date, etc.), as well as alphabetically (A - Z, or Z-A). But, when I open history in a sidebar, my viewing options do not include sorting alphabetically. Is there any way to do this?

Sorry, the manner of sorting is rather limited in the History sidebar, but there may be an extension which adds more sort options available. I am not aware of such an extension, so you'll need to search for one at AMO,
