yahoo chat is always loading but never does

IE 8 loads yahoo chat (not talking about yahoo messenger; it works fine) Ok. Firefox says loading chat". i have disable all my flash add-ons and still does not work. worked fine until I ins I installed those add-ons mentioned. but now even with them disabled, it does the same thing. It may be just coincidental that this occured about the same time I installed the add-ons; not sure.Messenger is not running when this occurs.

I had this problem also and requested assistance from Yahoo, but they were unable to offer a solution. I found that when I logged into my Yahoo email account in town on the library computer that also uses Firefox, that Chat would load.

I suspected one of my add-ons and disabled three or four likely suspects and Chat then loaded. A process of elimination then revealed that the problem was caused by Flashblock.

I then re-enabled Flashblock and Chat would not load. I then went to the options button and into the whitelist tab and added yahoo.com to the whitelist, and hey presto, Chat now loads.

Problem fixed.
