Maybe you need to check that you are always closing down firefox correctly by using the menu to close firefox, click on the Firefox button to get the quit option. You may need to check for and delete multiple copies of sessionstore.js files. CARE that will destroy your ability to re-open the related tabs, in their previous state, although that may be the current situation anyway.

Some users will close Firefox with hundreds of tabs open and restart it with the same tabs. (it probably makes sense in most cases to bookmark tabs, and not have hundreds open when you close down)
