FF has been crashing a lot recently and each time I update my add ons and I have disabled those identified as unknown... so far no probs doing that. Today is different because Flash is not being recognised as updated and I have updated it to Adobe 11 without the Macafee option. Except it is not showing as having been updated by the add on manager and yes I know how to update.

1) Update Firefox to 8.0.1

2) What version of flash player do you have installed? http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

3) Please provide a crash id -> https://developer.mozilla.org/en/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report

I updated to 8.0.1 yesterday though it took alot of effort to find the download site as typically I got a service not available msg. Abobe Flash 11.1.102.55 and other plugins updated afterwards. Yesterday I had no crashes even though I had several tabs open simultaneously...today it crashed with just two tabs. I am using opera to send this report as before I updated FF 8 had become impossible to use.

And before you ask being on FB today was just circumstantial typically FF 8 would crash anywhere.

I need a crash id from about:crashes - the report you provided doesn't have the info we need. See the link I provided in the 1st comment for full instructions on how to obtain the crash id

This is todays crash report 18/12/11

Though I since discovered that my Java and Silverlight plugins were out of date. Now I apparently had two versions of Silverlight on my PC both of which were out of date.

So I deleted one using the add/remove option and both disappeared from my list though the Silverlight web page kept insisting that I had version 4 still installed. So I hunted it down using the search facility and deleted it. As I do not use IE at all is it really worth updating Silverlight when I am using Adobe Flash at least until it becomes apparent that I need it?
