Everyttime I try to retrieve mail I get the message "Connection to server pop.1and1.com was interupted"

I've been using Thunderbird with no issues for probably a decade.

IONOS (1and1.com) just changed their policies so I had to change Thunderbird to use SSL/TLS. I made the change to the settings for that server and could still get email fine. It was after making the changes to the outgoing server settings that the error started happening so I suspect that is part of the problem. I followed the directions on this page for the SSL/TLS change: https://www.ionos.com/help/email/ssl-encryption-for-email/enabling-encryption-for-ionos-email-accounts-in-mozilla-thunderbird/

Thanks for any suggestions!

lets see what those setting look like in your Thunderbird.

If you go to the more troubleshooting on the help menu and copy the content to the clip board and paste it into a reply your settings will be included.
