When I send mail with attachments from thunderbird with any of 4 different email clients I often (but not always) get this message: Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent Items) due to network or file access errors. This is more likely (but not certain) with more or larger attachments, perhaps 3 or 4 attachments of 1-1.5MB would cause issue to happen. its less common with one attachment or multiple smaller ones and hasnt ever happened with just mail alone. Sometimes my attachments are lost and dont apear on the mail server or make it through to the recipient.

Any help greatly apreciated. Joe

this is a complex issue, compounded by the fact that their is also a bug in the save to send.

However if size is in anyway related, it is most likely an issue caused by your anti virus product slowing down things by scanning something it should not even be looking at.

Create an exception in your anti virus for the Thunderbird profile folder is always a good stating point.
