could it be you have used up your daily bandwidth with the provider? Free usually also means limited. Some of the limits are generous but when you configure your account for the first time and download the entire archive it is entirely possible to encounter them

Hi Matt, many thanks for your prompt response.

Seems to be a very reasonable explanation to me.

I am trying to set up my file for the first time and still have around 1,300 emails to go.

I think I will check the remaining ones and see if I can delete some of these first.

I will wait for a few days or so and then try again.
