I just had an automatic update delete my bookmarks and everthing else saved. What do I do to restore the lost stuff?

With this current automatic update I have lost all stored passwords and bookmarks. The "old firefox" folder on my desktop is 2 years old. I am not a happy camper.

Is there only one profile folder present if you check this in the parent location used for the profile folder?

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Go up one level to the Profiles folder.

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
