I use a slow dial up internet connection through Earthlink so I try to reduce download bandwidth every place I can. I use Thunderbird for email. Question: Is there a setting in Thunderbird or Earthlink that will cause spam email to be left on the Earthlink server and not be downloaded to Thunderbird thereby shortening the time necessary to get my email? Thanks for any help.

as an earthlink user you are probably using POP which has no concept of "folders" so unless you use something like mailwasher you will not have much luck with the native mail application.
