Receiving java script errors

When I start Thunderbird I start getting java script errors. Also I can't change the font in the panes. I have tried removing and re-installing but it just starts doing it again. A few minutes after getting script error (no matter how I answer) a message pops up the Norton recommends restarting the system.

1. How long has this been happening and what changed in the time frame that it started?

Please start *Windows'* safe mode with networking enabled - win10 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode Still In Windows safe mode, start thunderbird in safe mode - https://support.mozilla.org/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird Does problem go away? Please post your results.
