Error coping emails to sent box. Also telling me that my mail server is being disconnected, even though the emails are being sent and emails can be received.

When I go to send an email, my server becomes "disconnected." There is an error saving my email to my sent folder, but the email does send. I can receive emails fine as well. I am not sure if this is a dreamhost problem (the server we use for our domain) or if it is a thunderbird problem. We've had some issues with this computer and emails since about Thursday 9/8 or Friday 9/9. It may also be the computer itself. We are able to send and receive from the two email accounts in question from another computer without issue. Also, I am unable to send screenshots of both the SMTP settings. For some reason, I can only attach one thing at a time, but this is for two emails (print@rivercityva.com & cary@rivercityva.com) they should both be running on the same servers. To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try one of the following:

  • Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
  • Restart the operating system in safe mode with Networking. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX
If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.
