websites wont stay logged in
I have 2 websites that will not stay logged in after the last update. I have checked to make sure cookies are enabled and even put them on the allowed list. I have removed all cache and history as advised in other posts from years ago but still.
To be specific it is http://www.deviantart.com http://murpg.proboards.com/
These seem to be the only sites that I have the issue with and since I visit them everyday its kind of annoying. They seem to clear after I close the browser but stay logged in as long as I dont close.

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Cookies https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Deleting+cookies
This usually only works if the website supports this via a special remember cookie.
I do see such a box on the login pages, so this should be working in principle.
Did not work. For some reason it is only those 2 sites.

Remove History For One Site Open the History Manager <Control><Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any passwords / settings.

History and cookies can be removed or not recorded several ways;
- 1) Running Firefox in Private Mode (nothing is recorded)
- 2) Privacy settings
(Type about:preferences#privacy<enter> in the address bar.) - 3) Many disk cleaners and anti-virus type programs can remove data from browsers. Open their settings and have them leave the browsers alone.
- 4) Mal-ware.

I backed up my sites and passwords and did a fresh install. Removed everything left behind in the firefox folders and still have the same problems on those two sites, it only seems to be those two sites for some reason. Yes I have checked the little box that says remember me.

I would like you to try these two suggestions.
1) Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.
2) Create a new, blank profile. Do Not change it. Access those sites. Is the problem still there?
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles Windows: 32-bit C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -p 64-bit C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -p Mac: Navigate to /Applications/Utilities. Open the Terminal application. In the Terminal application, enter the following: /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -p Linux: In Terminal run: firefox –P
