It was once possible to simply drag and drop TBird address book collected addresses into a Personal Address book. Why was this easy to use feature abandoned?

It still works that way. What is keeping you from doing that?

If you just drag and drop it moves the contact from one book to another. To copy you need to hold the control key while doing it. A plus sign will appear to indicate a copy instead of a move.

No. Can you drag and drop in other applications?

You are just trying to drag and drop the contacts and not the entire folder correct?

When was the last time you closed Thunderbird and rebooted your computer?
