Until a few days ago when I opened Thunderbird in the morning everything worked fine. Now, each time I start Thunderbird at the beginning of the day I get promoted for a password. I enter the password and I get promoted for enter new password, cancel or retry. I retype my password and I get the same thing. This happens 3 times before I can finally get in. Any ideas? Is the program asking me to change my password?

sounds like your anti virus is still starting up and is blocking access. You going through the motions three times allows it to complete it's loading. These sorts of issues are most common on computers where people have set Thunderbird to load with the operating system.
