I have sent messages on my AT&T server and I would like for them to be imported into my Thunderbird email account for this email address. How do I do that?

Chosen solution

If you have a Pop mail account, it can only access and download emails from the server Inbox.

This is not a Thunderbird quirk, all pop mail accounts behave the same no matter what email client.

To get around this: In Thunderbird: Move all emails out of Inbox into other suitable folders. Delete any emails you do not want. When Inbox is empty, right click on Inbox folder and select 'compact'.

Logon to webmail account using a browser. Move all 'Sent' emails into Inbox.

In Thunderbird Click on Get Messages and download those 'Sent' emails into Inbox. Then move all of emails into your Thunderbird 'Sent' folder.
