I've tried replying to the big thread but this whole Mozilla support forum is pure ludicrus. No sign up button or anything. Post replies don't work. I'm trying to submit another thread instead (sigh).

I've been getting this frequently now. It usually happens when I start up Firefox. It doesn't happen every time but some of the URLs that have been posted I've seen myself. Here's one that I just got: https://faewientresting.org/3981235585684/b1fc93c0645d8a4913b5e06d101f0451/04230b6fffabc7e8f007ba0603bd3bc6.html

Kaspersky catches it as a trojan. I have malwarebytes Premium on my computer too. Kaspersky catches it first and automatically deletes it. I've done scans with both Kaspersky and Malwarebytes and they say I'm not infected. Obviously I am. This seems like a serious infection. I hope someone can give a good solution.

The pattern is that ads on some sites redirect you to these phishing/malware pages. It's possible you have an infection -- that's always worth checking -- but it's more likely your startup/home page uses a shady advertising network.

If you do not already use an extension which blocks unwanted ads, you might consider trying one. For example:

The fake firefox-patch.js file is only a concern if you try to run it.
