I cannot open a browser window that allows me to enter a URL. When I open Fiefox seven browser windows open all at once (and all of which were recently used) none of which have any menus or toolbars nor will accept a URL. I have seen these minimal browsers before but they are not what I need as they are limited to only one particular page. An update effects no change. Any suggestions about what to fix? This is the first time I was ever glad to have (gulp) IE on my system.

Chosen solution

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.

Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them).
