On websites that have comments sections, newspapers for example, I can see the first few comments but when I click on the "see more" spot, I get a message saying that I am not logged in. I have no idea what is generating the message, but I am thinking it has something to do with Facebook since almost all of the comments sections are based on that. I don't have a Facebook account and don't want one, is there a work-around so that I can view the public comments?

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Thanks for the ideas, but neither worked.

Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page that doesn't require authentication (log in) to access it?
