Why can't I access extensions thru Add-ons Manager?

I just upgraded to version 8 on WinXP. Flagfox extension died on start up, so I tried to uninstall and re-install as suggested. However, Add-ons Manager says I have no Extensions, but Tools Menu lets me access and configure a number of extensions.

That information is useless because Add-ons Manager says I have no extensions! So how do I access them? Also, I never received the "Select Your Add-ons" prompt during start up.

I restarted Firefox and got 8 tabs asking to Install Add-on, that is 1 add-on per tab. What I need to know is what is add-on Default 8.0? Is it important?

I got the same tab with "Default 8.0" on it. I just ignored it and closed it. So far I have no problem.

Thanks, I'll ignore it and restart Firefox.

Well, after restarting Firefox enough times, everything seems to have gone back to normal. I even have extensions listed in the Add-ons Manager. I guess I have a successful upgrade to version 8, but it wasn't a pleasant experience.
