In some websites, i have always to restart firefox with extras deactivated, in order to share something for example, i have a Java problem also

I only have the extras attached, i can´t understand why i have to always do the restart without extras on

Also, java is real slow opening things or doesn´t open them at all

Sounds like Cisco and Google is could be part of the cause and what happens if you disable those extensions what happens? Also disable the Addon and see what happens as well - here you need to do a process of elimination to narrow down the problem.

But i only have 2 addons, and 1 extension, if i disable them, the website shows fine for sharing, but with java, no way, it simply doesn´t work....takes forever to load the loading java screen, then everything just stays blank, even in other browsers, witch is even more weird, i have no malware, or anything that can jeopardize navigation, no anti virus as well, i´m an advanced user

Did you update java to 9.0.1 version?

Are you sure that this isn't about JavaScript instead of Java?

The only plugin that Firefox 57 support is the Shockwave Flash plugin.


You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and remove the cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Clear the cache:

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove the cookies" from websites that cause problems.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
