I used Firefox 56.0.2 and today, for no reason, web console started to poping up all the time. I couldnt navigate www. After few minutes my ram was full and i had to close firefox. I disabled all addons but it didnt help.

Then i updated to Firefox 57, refreshed firefox but the problem with web console remains. Now its randomly poping up and i need to shut it down everytime. Please help me fix this problem.

Chosen solution

This what a clean install looks like : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Can you please create a new Profile and run that profile to see if still having the issue : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Hello,

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

I did that as soon as i instaled firefox 57. But it didnt fix the problem. Now the web console is popping up from time to time on every open page but not constantly.

The strange thing is that i didnt install any programs/addons when the problem occured.

I even set to false devtools.toolbar.enabled but it didnt fix the problem.

The problem was fixed. Low battery in wireless keyboard was causing this problem. Strange.
