Why cant i find an official thunderbird stable repository for ubuntu (!4.04) ? Even in the thunderbird under preferences tab and then updates, i am not able to find any thing under it just blank space. Updates should be available to everyone right.

Chosen solution

The updates in Thunderbird, Firefox and SeaMonkey are only for the official (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux) builds from mozilla.org and not third-party builds including the packages provided by a Linux distro.

I got it, but the software bundled in the linux distro should be the same right. However thanks, for helping out.

The Linux distro provide updates themselves.
