Hi,

Please check if this happens in a new profile. If the new profile is okay, you can Reset Firefox on the old (previous) profile via Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.

  • Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
  • Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
  • Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
  • Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).

If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.images pref should be 1.

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).

Do any of the missing images show in Tools > Page Info > Media ?

Do you see the context menu of an image (e.g. View Image) if you right-click an area where an image should appear?

they do show in tools > page info > media preview

on the newspaper page itself if i right-click where the pics should be, i get an empty square and on top of that square a.imgcont

Can you also please create a screenshot of the NYT site problem you're seeing by following the guide mentioned at How do I create a screenshot of my problem?.

Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the Browse... button below the Post your reply box. You really help us to visualize the problem.

Are you opening the Inspector?

Try to use View Image Info or View Page Info instead.

i'm not getting view image info but can get to view page info when i click on media and highlight one of the jpg addresses i can see the pic in media preview but it does not show on the actual newspaper page. mind you, all my other newspapers display images. i checked preferences and permissions - all are as should be as far as i can tell following instructions in mozilla troubleshooting articles

If you do see the images in Tools > Page Info > Media then that means that Firefox is downloading the images, but doesn't display then for some reason.

You can try to reset all preferences.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
