Calendar - The drop down to schedule appointments does not work

When I want to create an appointment in my calendar, I hit NEW to get the drop down with details of appointment. This drop down does not appear on my laptop (Windows 7) However, it works on my desktop (Windows XP)

How is that related to Firefox?
Firefox doesn't come with a Calendar.
