When I upgraded to 5.0 my help screens and part of the display of the Firefox home page is "black" or missing, with no visable text. Is there something I did wrong?

I had IE as my main web browse until over a year ago when I switch to Firefox 3.0. I have had no problems with Firefox and decided to switch to 5.0. As part of my install I made Firefox my main browser and deleted the old IE modules. After my install of 5.0 the home page did not display properly. The text had disappear and several help windows are completely "BLACK." I am using MS Vista for Home. Any help would be greatly appricated

Are you using a special Windows theme or made changes otherwise?

Control Panel > Personalization > "Theme" & "Window Color and Appearance"

You can also check the default colors.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors :
[X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
