Since the latest version of Firefox I cannot simply open attachments to Yahoo emails. I have to waste time to download and save the attachments before I can view them. How can this be fixed? Or, how can I download a previous version of Firefox and not have any updates?

This is likely a change to how Firefox handles file downloads in the latest version. see How file downloads are handled in Firefox version 98 and above.

You could install an older version of Firefox but this is not recommended. If you can't live with or work around the new changes, see Install an older version of Firefox.
