Greetings,

I have a slow Internet connection. The Thunderbird GUI is slow, clunky, and unresponsive. I believe this is largely because of my slow Internet connection.

I am a software engineer with about 40 years of experience (more than 20 in C). A slow Internet connection should not cause the whole GUI to be slow. The GUI should be on its own thread and not have to ever wait for one of the other threads.

Is there awareness of this and an effort to fix this?

Looking into this further, it appears that Thunderbird is single-threading. Really!?!
