The processor you mentioned is not a very fast one, so doing things like watching videos is going to strain it. You can try the suggestions in this support article and see if they help: Firefox uses too much memory or CPU resources - How to fix

How much RAM do you have? 2 GB is marginal these days, and that was a fairly normal size back in 2008 when that CPU was brand new.
