When I delete mail from only one account it tells me I am moving the incorrect number
I have 3 mail account running under thunderbird. 2 works great but one of them is very slow in reading and deleting mail. In fact I can delete one e-mail and it will tell me I am moving 22 mail from inbox to trash even though it only moves the one. I have repair all the folders and rebuild all the profiles but it still is doing it..

what is the mail provider? Is it IMAP or POP? what about your other accounts?
The other two mail accounts works perfectly. All the mail accounts are supplied by the same ISP provider. one is imap and it works, the other twp are setup exactly the same as pop server and one of them work and the other is slow. I thought it was corrupted folders but I have deleted them and tried to repair them ...still slow. It isn't anything to do with my macfee because I have turned it off with no changes.

You sure about McAfee, it has been the number one source of issues with Thunderbird for a couple of years now. see http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR281.loop.shtml#skip
I would also suggest you compact your folders, that is on the file menu.
!00 % sure about macfee and I compact my folders everytime I open and before I close my Thunderbird. Never had this problem till about a year ago and have been fighting it since. The odd things is sometimes I will delete one message and it will tell me I am moving 6to 12 messages from the inbox to the trash. I check the trash and it will only contain the deleted message
