Hello, When I try to add my Gmail account into thunderbird, it goes this way : - enter my id and PWD - continue : IMAP and SMTP servers are automatically detected - continue : I am redirected to a google sign in window where my id is already filled. - continue : instead of asking my PWD, Google sends a 400 bad request error.

How can I add my Gmail address?

Thank you. Juliette

I'm running Windows 10 Pro (64-bit). I have two different versions of Thunderbird installed on my system; one is installed in Program Files (64-bit version 125.0.0.0 dated 04/23/2024—old version) and the other is installed in Program Files (x86) (64-bit version 115.12.2.0 dated 06/25/2024—the current version). The shortcut icon on my desktop (which I never use) runs the older version located in the Program Files folder while the shortcut icon on my taskbar (and also the one in my Start menu) runs the updated version located in the Program Files (x86) folder.

As an aside, there are 21 .dll files in the Program Files (x86) folder (all starting with api-ms-win and dated 09/27/2023) while none of those files are in the Program Files folder.

FYI, I have been using Thunderbird on this PC for almost five years.

How do I fix this problem so that I have only the current version of Thunderbird run from the proper folder, Program Files?

The settings menu gives me the option to mark an email as junk and then either move it to the junk folder or delete it. Fair enough.

But once messages are in the junk folder, I am trying to find an easy way to THEN delete them without clicking on "delete selected messages" which then sends them on to the trash file, where they AGAIN need to be deleted.

Assuming there's currently no way to do this, would it be difficult to add "empty folder" option to the junk file? That would save an unnecessary step.

I don't like to delete them straight off because I might accidentally delete a message I want to keep, so I use the junk folder to give them a second chance as it were. But I'm trying to avoid the third chance.

The default attribution line created by Thunderbird when replying doesn't work well when sending e-mail to Outlook users. [Unfortunately, Outlook users comprise 100% of the people to whom I send emails in TB.] TB's default attribution line causes Outlook OWA to hide the entire reply from the reader unless they click on a [...] button to show it. Then when displayed, the entire message is quoted/indented.

Yes, this is a bug in Outlook. No, it's not going to get fixed.

This can be avoided by changing the attribution line which current defaults to:

Simply adding a space after the colon at the end of the line "fixes" the problem, but it's annoying to have to do that manually.

Can that attribution line be configured somewhere?

I've found all sorts of addons that let you muck with the headers of replies, but the headers are fine. It's just the attribution line that needs to be fixed.

Thunderbird 115.6.1 (32-bit) on Win 10 and Win 11, local calendar, no email invites are sent to the listed Attendees. Correct email is entered on Calendar/Properties/Email and Notify attendees is ticked on New Event dialogue. Attendees are correctly entered under New Event/Invite Attendees. After clicking Save and Close, there is no Invitation email record in "Sent" emails and the Attendees do not receive email invitations. The event *is* saved in the originator's calendar.

The invites were correctly sent on the Win 10 PC up until TB version 113 (?), when they stopped working after the update (I think). Eventually email and calendar data were transferred to a fresh TB installation on a Win 11 PC, but the invites are still not sent.

The only difference that I can see between this non-email-invite-sending version of TB on a WIn 11 PC and another Win 10 PC where the invites are sent, is that "Troubleshooting Information/Force Email Scheduling" is set to true on the non-working version and is blank on the working one. Clues where to look next?

Hi there I must say having used Thunderbird for probably ten or more years that V115 has been a big pain in the butt to get used to. Why change everything? It was fine before.

OK I can get used to a completely different layout and changed menus even though I don;'t want to but I cannot figure out how to change the background from solid black which I hate. I have spent several days on and off looking for an easy way to do this and can't find it.

So now I go to write an email and the black screen doesn't show anything with black letters of course?? What is the reason for this? So I have to change font over and over to white color.

When I read new emails no problem background is white and font is black like a normal screen. Who had this bright idea?? Please give me a simple solution not involving Css whatever programming such stuff I cannot figure out and don't want to learn. Thanks so much

I am using Thunderbird 115.12.1 (64 bit) on Windows 10 with the email account set up as POP3 for the Gmail account

I have a subfolder under an Inbox (Gmail account) that is no longer showing up. If I search for an email address from a sender that was in the folder, I get a list of emails showing the dates and subject, but if I click on the email, the tab that opens is blank.

My PC crashed, but I can't say for sure when the folder disappeared, other than I know it was there 4 days ago. It the the only subfolder that is missing.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Device: Desktop computer - Win 7 Pro Email client: Thunderbird Version 102.13 Server: POP settings

I am a Cox email user and was recently migrated to Yahoo. After I input the correct server settings on the Thunderbird app, each time I click on the Get Message button, It starts downloading all (100K+) the email messages in my Yahoo inbox, including the ones that were already downloaded on my computer from the Cox server. Are there certain settings in Thunderbird that will stop this issue and just let me download new messages? TIA -Craig
