I have to upload the images.

when browsing images for the same I am making firefox to look into E/Folder1/A1.

E contains Folder1

Folder contains folders A1, A2, A3, and so on.

Each folder contains each image.

After uploading the image from A1, I have to upload the image from A2,

When I browse for the same, firefox will look into the recently used folder.

I do not want this. Instead firefox should look into E/Folder1 by default always and not into E/Folder1/A1

How to do this?

Thank you cor-el.

There should be such a setting. Don't you think so?

I have this problem too, and the suggested solution to create a new user.js does not work for me. What I did was:

I added the following code to a new user.js in my user profile folder:

user_pref("browser.open.lastDir", "E:\\temp");

I restarted Firefox but the next file upload dialog opened at the desktop - which I never use for uploads or downloads.

This problem has been reported since 2014-07-08 1 here: (EDIT BEGIN) I meant https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1035988 instead of the suggested duplicate from 2012-09-10 at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=789999 (EDIT END) , titled "Bug 1035988 - Open file selector for uploads reverts to "Recently used files" instead of "Recently used folders". " (EDIT instead of the old 2012 bug report: "Bug 789999 - file selection menu broken ")

What do I expect?

I expected Firefox to have a user setting for the location of uploads.

My specs: Firefox version 31.0 up to date, Windows 8, Intel i7.

EDIT: This problem does not occur with Opera 12.17, although I do not understand how it is set because Opera's default location is set to "Downloads" . For example, browse to imgur.com and click the "upload images" at the top: in Opera the folder last used for download is used; in Firefox the Desktop is used regardless. Same experience with https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadWizard.
