After this most recent Tbird update, links in emails are not working. I've double checked the links and they are valid (using "Copy Link Location"). The problem is that Thunderbird is not completing the connection to the internet when I click on the embedded link. I'm trying to get registered with some Cloud backup companies and so this is a problem.

How can we fix it?

Thunderbird does not make any connection to the internet when you click a link in Windows. It simply passes the link to Windows for it to do something with it. Windows makes the connection that it is a web URL and passes it to the default web browser for action.

Third party antivirus programs have a long history of causing these sorts of issues, especially just after you install or upgrade Thunderbird.
