Back in the old days (a few days ago) A Link could be d/d directly to a new email and would not be an attachment it would remain a hyperlink. What is the new method to drag drop a hyperlink in line, into email without it being an attachment?

This is my sentence: (I now want to drag drop a hyperlink here in the middle of text)

LINKS:

Method one: This shows the actual link. Copy the entire link including the http bit and paste it into the desired location in the content of email. So you see: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1351997

Method two: This example shows text such as 'This is the Link' which looks blue Position cursor in compose window 'Insert' > 'Link' to see Link Properties window Enter text to display for this link: so type eg: This is the Link In link Location enter the link location such as : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1351997 Click on 'OK

As the link is being placed in a compose window, it will not look like a link nor will it a clickable link at this stage because in a compose Write window it remains in a text state to faciliate easy editing. If you save the email as a Draft, then view the saved draft, you will notice the link is now a clickable link.

However, although you use the word 'Link', it does not sound like you are talking about a link.

eg: Images can be included in the content of the email, so they are 'inline' OR they can be attached to the email as eg: a jpeg document.

If you have a document eg: an image which you want to 'drag and drop' into a new Write message: Select image - left click hold down to grab and drag over the pre opened Write window. If you hover more to the left an outline for 'Inline' is displayed, if you hover on the right side and outline for 'Attachment' is displayed, so hover on left side to select inline and release to drop.

You are using the latest version so all of this is new in 91*. See info: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/new-thunderbird-91#w_new-user-interface-for-adding-attachments

So if you want the following in a new Write window. You have typed some content the following is example

I'm adding a load of text and then I want an image immediately so leave cursor in position - even if you have typed more text - position the cursor. Drag and drop as advised previously

Refine positioning - double click on image and select the 'Appearance' tab and sort out desired spacing and alignment.

To have more control use Tables. Remember when you drop the dragged image into the 'Inline' side, it gets dropped into the location you positioned the cursor.

I want to click a hyperlink from a website and drag/drop it inline into email. also this makes sense and works for drag/drop an image, but not for text. "If you have a document eg: an image which you want to 'drag and drop' into a new Write message: Select image - left click hold down to grab and drag over the pre opened Write window. If you hover more to the left an outline for 'Inline' is displayed, if you hover on the right side and outline for 'Attachment' is displayed, so hover on left side to select inline and release to drop." I want to do this with a hyperlink.

Thanks for image - I understand your situation. You could do that in version 78*, but not possible in version 91*.
