There are no toolbars at the top of the page, only tabs. What do I do to get the toolbars back?
I can't get to my bookmarks or anything else. The only thing on my page are the tabs. I can't even enter a URL. There are no tool bars on the page at all.

Please mark "Solved" the answer that really solve the problem, to help others with a similar problem.
Back and forward or other toolbar items are missing
Check and tell if its working.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).
Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.
