Unknown Plugin Research Bug

more options

I understand that Google Search has already been removed as the default official search engine in the latest Firefox browser but I discover that I'm still directed in to Google.com to search for my "Unknown Plugins" let me explain:

1. While conducting a Plugin Check in https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/

2. Just select any "Unknown Plugin" in the "Unknown Plugins List" and hit the "Research" button

3. You will find that the browser will automatically direct it to Google.com i.e. https://www.google.com/search?q=current version plugin DivX Plus Web Player - as I'm checking if my DivX Plus Web Player (v. 3.2.3.1164) in Firefox is the latest.

I'm wondering how is it that the research search is inconsistent with your default search policy and that Google is being the first and automatic choice here.

Thank you for your attention.

Mozilla has an agreement with Yahoo that Yahoo will be the default search provider in the browser for the U.S. and Canada. My guess is there is no agreement about websites like the plugin checker website.
