I can open the Chase bank site, but cannot log into my account. I can log into my Chase account using Edge. This may have happened after the most recent update to Firefox. Any ideas how to fix this?

Try clearing site cookies and disabling Tracking Protection for the site.

Does it still happen in Troubleshoot Mode?

Zero,

I appreciate the advised, but, alas, the same problem exists after trying all three suggestions.

Does it still happen with default settings in a new browser profile? An easy way to test a new profile is to install Developer Edition and see if it happens there or refresh your existing profile. Make sure you stay signed out of your sync account when testing.

You can check for issues with Total Cookie Protection.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be careful. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose, make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website, data for that website will be saved once again.

I tried the refreshing approach. No luck. I'm hesitant to create a new profile. Not sure where that leads with other things. I can log on to my Chase account via Edge. I still have to believe that the last Foxfire update is the culprit, but have no way of establishing that.

Is there a way to return to one of the older versions of Firefox?

ggfosen, If above help does not work, can you explain a little more on what the issue actually is? "Cannot log into my account..." is a pretty generic issue.

Is this happening on your computer, or on your phone? Can you actually locate the Log-in fields? I was just able to log into my Chase account (on computer) - the Login slid in from the right hand side of the screen, possibly an add-in is blocking it. (these should have been disabled when working through above troubleshooting) Do you get any error message after trying to log in? Perhaps a screenshot would be helpful, if you can block out any personally identifiable info.

The New Profile page should show you how to Manage profiles, so you don't lose the original one. It is for troubleshooting to identify if there is something wrong with the original one that we can help pinpoint to fix. Without creating a new profile, we can't help pinpoint and you can try removing lots and too much that can cause other problems, if you truly want to use Chase in FF.

Just tried the "Forget about this site" suggestion. No luck. Still cannot log into my Chase account, but still can log in on Edge.

How do I back up from the latest version (IE: return to an older version) of Firefox?

Try changing DNS over HTTPS (DoH) to "Off" or "Max Protection" and in Connection Settings change "Use system proxy settings" to "No proxy".

Does it still happen with the ESR version (115)?

Disable any third-party antivirus or security software, this may require rebooting into Windows Safe Mode (networking enabled).

Going to old version will not fix your profile, IF the Profile has issues. If it is a Profile Issue, About Profiles This page helps you to manage your profiles. Each profile is a separate world which contains separate history, bookmarks, settings and add-ons.

Have you looked at cor-els links to Total Cookie Protection? I am running version 125.0.2 on linux, if that makes a difference to you.

To all who have diligently tried, I went to Chase on the phone, finally got someone who's English my decidedly old and poor ears could easily understand, and started over. She did some sort of cyber in-house voodoo, and I was able to log in as normal. She did mention that, on her end, she had to enter as "unrecognized device" (not an option that I had on my big box). Fingers crossed, but thanks to all of you.

At least for now, my case is closed

Marc,

I do appreciate your input on going to an older version. Obviously a bunch I don't know about cyber stuff.

Thanks

Oh yeah, I'm on windows 11, but Linux, or some form of it, is lucking someplace in the background. I just haven't moved to it, yet. Still pondering.

What happens if you try to login? Are you returned to the login page or do you get an error message?

Are you using content blocking extensions ?

You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages.
