I am running the latest Firefox 4 RC on Mac OS 10.6.6. A couple of times now, last night and then a few minutes ago, Windows Live asked to switch to 32-bit mode when trying to upload or download software to or from my computer. No such problem on the Windows 7 machine I also use (latest Firefox 3.6).

If this isn't a problem, is there a way to set Firefox to 32-bit mode?

Is that uploader using the Silverlight plugin?

If that is the case then that plugin may require Firefox 32 bit mode. On Mac 10.6 Firefox 4 run as a 64 bit application by default and not all plugins support 64 bit mode.

Control-click the Firefox.app icon, select "Get Info", and then check the box, "Open in 32-bit mode"
