In Thunderbird I'm wondering why when I flag an email red as 'spam' (and delete it) it doesn't automatically block the email address from repeated future spam attempts?

Hi, Today I discovered that firefox has logged me out of every site. I checked the cookies and there were cookies.sqlite and cookies.sqlite.bak. When I delete the newly created cookies.sqlite and rename cookies.sqlite.bak to cookies.sqlite, I am logged back in to all sites and everything works fine. I notice that the cookies.sqlite.bak file is created when I go to twitch.tv. Can I check what is causing this problem and fix it somehow? I've already tried deleting the cookies just from the twitch.tv site, but that doesn't help.

I've been using T-Bird for about 15 years, or more. On May 8th it stopped working - unable to receive or send e-mail. I'm using T-Bird 115.10.2 (64-bit) and I've been running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit since 2012, and have no intention of upgrading to a new OS. If I do upgrade to a new OS, it will probably be the latest Mint Linux, as I installed an earlier version of Mint a few years ago to check it out as an alternative to Windows.

I have a 3.2GB AMD CPU and 16 GB RAM. Luckily I can access & use my AT&T Mail at currently.com, but I like T-Bird a lot better. T-Bird has essentially worked flawlessly for me all of these years - until now.

I have re-set my AT&T Mail password 2 times and also tried my AT&T Mail's "Secure Mail Key" from 2020, which is supposed to "never expire" - to no avail! T-Bird does not like any of these Passwords.

So it appears to me that T-Bird is now dead.

And so I am looking around for the best new e-mail client to use.

I am reluctant to try uninstalling T-Bird and re-installing it, out of fear that I'll lose all of my T-Bird data (folders, files, settings, etc.).

Also, I just found a recent article that claims that T-Bird will no longer work with Windows 7 after "late 2024." So I wonder, if the Thunderbird team has already euthanized T-Bird.

I shall greatly appreciate it if you can help bring my T-Bird back to life.

My email server changed recently from one IMAP server to another. Since the change, Thunderbird keeps marking some messages as Unread. Often these are old messages, reveived weeks or months ago and definitely have been read. The process appears to be random: I laboriously work through multiple folders, marking them as Folder Read. Only to find, next time I open Thunderbird, that there is a new set of messages and folders flagged as Unread. In Settings I have 'Automatically mark messages as read - Immediately on display' checked, which is the desired and normal behaviour. I'm stumped!

Checked everything. Not sending after upgrade. Is sending in troubleshooting mode.

No add-ons.

Not anti-Virus or firewall issue because I shut them down. to test. With both on it sends in troubleshooting mode.

I have spent many hours combing thru possible solutions.

Please help. TIA.

OPEN PREVIOUS WINDOWS AND TABS is unchecked but upon startup firefox always tries to do this and I get an error message. Computer crashes, shutoffs, sleep mode and Firefox wants to go to my previous windows and tabs : I HAVE IT UNCHECKED FOR A REASON, I DON'T WANT TO GO TO PREVIOUS TABS.

I have set up my google calendars in Thunderbird so I can have a shared work calendar.

The calendar has the "prefer client-side email scheduling" option enabled, and the correct email (my work email) is selected, yet invites are still being sent out from my gmail account.

I'm at wits end. 1. I've been using TB for a very long time. Everything was working just fine until about a month ago. Now I don't receive email and can't send email. 2. I've tried working with my server provider (they say it's a TB issue). I've tried following several old responses - but have had no luck. So... 1. Did something change? 2. What do I need to do to get things working like they did before? Thanks

hi there, nowadays i am suffering a bad moment....because when i am trying to visit a website and trying to view an article the website automatically redirects to other sites,,,, and this is very disappointed..

so now i am asking for a solution to turn off auto redirect..

I'm a longtime ubuntu (lubuntu, actually) user, and upgrading LTS versions every 2 years has been pretty easy til now: all I had to do was copy my .thunderbird folder to the home directory of the new system.

When I do that now for the pre-release version of lubuntu 24.04,, the new Thunderbird requires setting up the new profile from scratch, which is a pain, since I use T-bird for multiple accounts.

Is there an easier way of migrating my emails from my old profile to the new system?

Using Thunderbird on Linux I cannot delete any local folders, when I try to delete them I get more copies of the folders on reopening Thunderbird, after the system says it is "not responding" and I close it down. I have tried several times and now have multiple copies of the local folders I've tried to delete.

Hello, How can we disable QUIC with the latest ADMX or via registry entry on Windows 10. I see not settings under ADMX that can assist in doing so. I dont mind implementing a registry entry in GPO as well.

Hi. I have this strage problem X writes a mail to "support". "Support" is a distribution list. I receive that mail

I then reply to X. Sender is "support" as it is defined as an Identity under the main mailbox Also there is a rule in that identity to sens a cc copy to support itself (so collegues belonging to list "support" receive a copy)

I then need to send a second email to X, starting from the sent message (as it is a follow up)

So i go under "sent mail", i find the message i sent previously, having from "support" to: X cc "support"

(1) I click reply and i get a message with: - from "support" - to "support" - cc "support"

So "X" has disappeared

(2) Note I have no button "reply to all", but if i right click the masse and the "reply to all", i got a good message with: - from "support" - to "X" - cc "support"

Hope this is clear. Someone can help ? My need is click reply and get result as described at (2) Thank you

I have a problem every time I close thunderbird, a few seconds later at least another two programs start up on their own. Its usually the Whatsapp desktop app or google games. Some times something from Nvidia will pop up.

I using kubuntu (ubuntu with kde) 22.04 and firefox will not recognize my security key. There is a really good thread on this here. It is now closed.

One of the solutions is to install firefox from the mozilla server. On other forums, this is referred to removing snap and installing the debs. I haven't tried this.

Reading through the thread however, it seems like the snap version should work. The manufacurers id and product code for my Thetis FIDO2 usb key are present in the etc/udev/rules.d/70-snap.firefox.rules

This answer says to disable apparmor. I tried that, but it didn't work.

This isn't actually a firefox problem. KDE Neon uses the firefox package from the Mozilla Team PPA and there's nothing wrong with that package. The problem is that Neon enables app armor on firefox which breaks access to password managers and security keys. sudo aa-disable usr.bin.firefox works around the problem by disabling app armor for firefox. aa-complain was not sufficient in this case.

Is there anything else I can try?

Thunderbird takes a long time to open?? First it displays a blank page Then blank page marked: loaded Then it opens on the email account I saved the Profiles folder I carefully uninstalled, cleaned and rebooted, then reinstalled the latest version and replaced the Local folder in the new Thunderbird to find all my local folders Version 115.10.2 (64 bits) Win 10 Home 22H2

I can add the short cuts I want but if I go someplace new Firefox will add it to my shortcuts without permission. This seems to be a new problem, and I don't like it! Then if I dismiss or delete from history its still not removed! Very annoying and may cause me to ditch Firefox for good!
