I accidentally installed the Zugo toolbar and when I went to check out how to uninstall it, I came across a lot of posts where people are talking about it having malware or spyware. Although it took a little while to figure out the right way to uninstall it (save you trouble: http://zugo.com/uninstall/ ), there's no malware or spyware associated with it.

Just don't want people to worry if they don't have to. Anyway, the link will tell you how to uninstall it properly.

Hope this helps.

It may not be considered to be malware, but it is adware. Here's an extract from the EULA:

  • Content from advertisers and other third parties may be made available to you through the Site AND/OR THE SERVICES.

For the Zugo Toolbar, it goes on with:

  • Zugo cannot guarantee the completeness or accuracy of the websites or URLs to which the Toolbar links or refers. As the Toolbar processes are largely automatic, Zugo does not screen the websites included in the Toolbar, and these other websites are operated by persons over whom Zugo exercises no control. As a result, Zugo assumes no responsibility for the content of any website or URL to which the Toolbar links or refers and is not responsible for errors or omissions or for offensive or objectionable content contained on any website or URL to which the Toolbar links or refers.

It also mentions in a roundabout way that the Zugo Toolbar will redirect your searches to its own search engine. So in other words, it's a browser hijacker.
